Prismabasher enters with a ward counter on each creature you control, then swings as a 4/3 trampler — that's a board-wide protection layer stapled to a threat. Mass of Mysteries does something similar for less mana, which is the honest benchmark Prismabasher has to clear, and at five mana it doesn't always clear it.

In Commander, Prismabasher's ward distribution is at its best when you're running a wide creature strategy — the more bodies on board when it enters, the more tax effects you're spreading across opponents' removal. In 1v1 formats like Modern, Pioneer, and Legacy, the five-mana cost is a near-disqualifier; competitive decks at that cost slot are winning or protecting wins, not distributing ward. Standard is the format where Prismabasher has the most realistic home, slotting into midrange go-wide shells that can actually leverage the ETB before the board gets wiped. Across formats, the card is a role-player, not a staple.

$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Prismabasher is deep bulk — the kind of card you pick up in a collection lot without noticing. There's no meaningful price floor to fall through, and unless it finds a dominant Standard shell, it stays there.
