Mass of Mysteries
Legendary Creature — Elemental
First strike, vigilance, trample
At the beginning of combat on your turn, another target Elemental you control gains myriad until end of turn. (Whenever it attacks, for each opponent other than defending player, you may create a token copy that's tapped and attacking that player or a planeswalker they control. Exile the tokens at end of combat.)

Mass of Mysteries enters as a 3/3 with two keyword counters of your choice, and if you control a multicolored commander it cantrips — all for three mana. Ashling, the Limitless and Prismabasher are the obvious homes, but any multicolored commander deck that wants a cheap, keyword-flexible threat with built-in card draw should be looking at this.

Commanders with the highest synergy

Ashling, the Limitless
Ashling, the Limitless copies spells and cares about keyword counters stacking up, so Mass of Mysteries does double duty: it arrives with two counters already on it and replaces itself in hand, feeding Ashling's engine without burning a card in the process.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the correct format for Mass of Mysteries — the cantrip clause fires reliably when you're building around a multicolored commander, and keyword counter synergies are far more supported in 100-card singleton than anywhere else. Legacy and Vintage are legal homes on paper, but a vanilla 3/3 with conditional draw doesn't compete at those power levels. Oathbreaker is a reasonable fit if your planeswalker is multicolored and you want a cheap threat that replaces itself.

$0.37 bulk tier
At $0.37, Mass of Mysteries is firmly bulk — easy to pick up as a four-of or a throw-in. Bulk rares with narrow synergy conditions rarely climb unless a new commander pushes the mechanic into the spotlight.
