Princess Yue card art
Princess Yue turns any creature dying into a free Moon token — a 1/1 blue Island Fish that taps to add a blue mana — which is a genuine two-for-one stapled onto a three-mana 2/2. The catch is the Wormfang Newt clause: she exiles herself when she enters, and you don't get her back until that token dies, so if the token sticks around you've lost your commander or a deck slot permanently.

Princess Yue is a Commander card through and through — the token's mana production and the death-trigger loop scale with the graveyard-and-sacrifice synergies that tribal and aristocrats commanders reward, and the three-mana slot fits neatly into midrange curves. In Legacy and Vintage she's technically legal but faces a card-quality ceiling that keeps her out of competitive contention; no Eternal format wants a 2/2 that telegraphs a delayed self-exile. Commander is the only context where the upside of a repeatable blue mana token and a death-payoff engine justifies the Wormfang Newt drawback.

Price Context

Current price

$1.01 cheap tier

At $1.01, Princess Yue sits in impulse-buy territory — low enough to spec a copy for any blue aristocrats or tribal build without second-guessing the purchase. Niche combo enablers at this price point tend to hold a floor, but don't expect movement unless a high-profile deck lists push the interaction into the spotlight.
