Primal Rage gives your entire team trample for two mana — a permanent, board-wide effect that turns any blocked creature into a damage-dealer through chump blockers. It's a clean, cheap enchantment, and Doran, Besieged by Time decks in particular rely on it to make sure massive toughness-as-power creatures punch through for full value.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Doran, Besieged by Time
Doran, Besieged by Time turns high-toughness creatures into massive attackers, and Primal Rage ensures none of that damage gets absorbed by a 1/1 token — trample is the difference between a 10-power swing that matters and one that gets chump-blocked into irrelevance.

Doran, the Siege Tower
Doran, the Siege Tower runs the same engine: creatures with enormous toughness attacking for full power need trample to close games, and Primal Rage delivers that globally for just two mana.

General Marhault Elsdragon
General Marhault Elsdragon already grants rampage — bonus power when blocked by multiple creatures — and Primal Rage stacks on top, making every multi-blocked attack a potential game-ending swing.

Arcades, the Strategist
Arcades, the Siege Tower decks attack with defenders whose toughness doubles as power, and Primal Rage stops the opponent's 1/1s from neutering those attacks — a one-card answer to the most common roadblock the archetype faces.

Primal Rage is a Commander card through and through — the global trample effect scales with creature counts in ways that matter far more in a 40-life multiplayer game than in any 1v1 context. In Legacy and Vintage, it's technically legal but competes with faster, more impactful options and sees no meaningful play. Commander is where it earns its slot: two mana for a permanent enchantment that buffs your whole board is exactly the kind of cheap, persistent effect that tokens and go-wide creature decks want. Oathbreaker functions similarly to Commander at smaller scale, and Primal Rage is a reasonable include there for the same reasons.

Pricing data isn't currently available for Primal Rage, but it's a low-demand enchantment with multiple printings, and copies consistently show up in the bulk rare or bulk uncommon range at most local game stores and online retailers. It's safe to assume you're paying well under a dollar, making it an easy pickup for any trample-matters or high-toughness build.
