Press the Advantage gives your entire attacking team +2/+2 and trample for five mana — in a single combat step, that punishes any board that's light on blockers. Five mana at instant speed is a real ask, but the payoff is a clean alpha strike finisher in green.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Press the Advantage has its best argument — go-wide creature decks with a haste enabler in the command zone can turn a stalled board into a one-shot out of nowhere. The problem is five mana at instant speed competes with Overrun effects that cost the same or less and stick around as sorceries, which is a bar Press the Advantage rarely clears. In competitive eternal formats like Legacy and Vintage, it doesn't register — the speed and efficiency demanded there make a five-mana pump spell unplayable. Modern and Pioneer are similarly hostile; creature strategies there close games with more redundant, cheaper tools. Oathbreaker, like Commander, is the friendliest home, specifically in green stompy builds that can generate the mana and swing wide.

$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Press the Advantage is pure bulk — you're paying for cardboard and little else. Bulk rares rarely recover value without a format breakout, and nothing about this card's power level suggests one is coming.
