Predator's Gambit gives a creature +2/+1 and intimidate for one black mana — immediate combat impact at the lowest possible cost. It's a role-player in Voltron and aggressive black strategies, not a staple, but it overdelivers for a one-drop.

In Commander, Predator's Gambit earns its slot in Voltron decks that need cheap, stackable evasion — intimidate shuts out most creature-heavy boards and costs nothing meaningful at one mana. In Pauper, it's a fringe aggressive option in black tempo or Suicide Black shells, though it competes with other one-mana pump spells for the same slot. Legacy and Vintage have no use for it; the power bar is simply too high for a +2/+1 with a conditional keyword. Predator's Gambit is a Commander and Pauper card, full stop.
