Power of Fire card art
Power of Fire turns any creature with a tap ability into a repeatable ping machine, and in the right shell that one enchantment closes games. It's narrower than Thornbite Staff but costs a fraction of the price, making it the budget entry point for tap-based combo decks.

Format Analysis

Where it lives, where it can’t

Commander is where Power of Fire actually matters — tap-creature combos are endemic to the format, and enchanting a Goblin Sharpshooter or Knacksaw Clique with it can generate infinite damage loops in a single turn. Pauper is the other home worth mentioning: the common restriction doesn't touch Power of Fire, and aggressive or combo-oriented red decks can use it to push through stalls. In Legacy, Modern, and Vintage it's too slow and too conditional — those formats punish two-card setups that require a creature to survive a full turn cycle. Power of Fire is a combo enabler, not a standalone threat, and formats that reward that distinction are the only ones where it belongs.

Price Context

Current price

$0.16 bulk tier

At $0.16, Power of Fire is deep bulk — the kind of card you grab as a throw-in without thinking. Demand from combo players keeps it from being a true zero, but don't expect the price to move unless a new commander pushes tap-creature loops into the mainstream.
