Possessed Nomad is a four-mana 2/2 that needs threshold to flip into a 3/3 trampler with a free discard-to-destroy removal ability — the payoff is real but the setup cost is steep. Graveyard decks that hit threshold reliably get a repeatable removal engine; anyone else gets an understatted vanilla.

In Commander, Possessed Nomad slots into graveyard-focused strategies that hit threshold easily — Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver or Araumi of the Dead Tide lists fill the yard fast enough to flip it turn five or six, but even then, paying a card per activation competes with stronger repeatable removal. In Legacy and Vintage, threshold payoffs existed in their own era and Possessed Nomad never made the cut over faster threats with cleaner conditions. Oathbreaker has the same problem: four mana for conditional 3/3 trample is simply too slow when most Oathbreaker games end before the engine gets going.

Price Context
Current price
$0.32 bulk tier
At $0.32, Possessed Nomad is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not power. It won't appreciate; threshold cards from this era have a narrow collector base and even narrower competitive demand.
