Planeswalker's Fury turns every card you draw into a free Lightning Bolt — at instant speed, for no mana — as long as you're willing to flip the top card of your library and accept the gamble. Three red mana to set up and one red to activate is cheap enough to go off multiple times a turn in the right shell, but the random damage ceiling makes it a build-around, not a staple.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Planeswalker's Fury is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it's a Commander card through and through — the repeated activations and the card-draw-heavy environments where opponents stockpile large hands make it shine brightest in 100-card multiplayer. In Legacy and Vintage it's simply too slow and too conditional; those formats end before the enchantment generates meaningful value. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander format where it could see niche play, specifically under a planeswalker commander that draws heavily, but the small card pool and shorter game length still work against it.

Price Context
Current price
$0.43 bulk tier
At $0.43, Planeswalker's Fury sits firmly in bulk territory, and that price is unlikely to move unless a high-profile commander specifically rewards it. It's a safe include from a budget standpoint — you're not sinking money into a card that might get reprinted out from under you.
