Phyrexian Triniform puts 18 power across three bodies onto the battlefield for nine mana, and when it dies it replaces itself with three 3/3 Golems — the floor is almost never zero. The cost is steep and it does nothing until your opponents' end step or you find haste, but Urza, Prince of Kroog cuts the sticker price in half and The Capitoline Triad turns the whole package into a recursive engine.

Commanders with the highest synergy

The Capitoline Triad
The Capitoline Triad runs Phyrexian Triniform as one of its marquee payoffs — the three Golem tokens from Triniform's encore ability map perfectly onto Triad's three-creature sacrifice trigger, letting you cash in the tokens immediately for a massive burst of value.
Megatron, Tyrant
Megatron, Tyrant wants artifacts that generate multiple bodies, and Phyrexian Triniform delivers three Golems on death that each feed Megatron's convert mechanic for Energy and card advantage.

Feldon of the Third Path
Feldon of the Third Path reanimates Phyrexian Triniform from the graveyard at instant speed each combat, getting a fresh set of 6/6 tokens every turn without ever spending the nine-mana cast — the Golems from encore are a bonus on top.

Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist
Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist wants large artifacts in the graveyard to reanimate and sacrifice, and Phyrexian Triniform's encore ability lets Ashnod generate a wave of Golem tokens that immediately become sacrifice fodder for further recursion loops.

Brenard, Ginger Sculptor
Brenard, Ginger Sculptor turns any dying nontoken creature into a Golem copy, so Phyrexian Triniform itself becomes a Golem-generating death trigger — and the three 3/3 Golems from encore give Brenard additional sculpting material every time Triniform hits the graveyard.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Phyrexian Triniform lives — nine mana is achievable in a format defined by ramp, and the encore ability generates the kind of late-game board state that closes games across multiple opponents. In Vintage and Legacy it's technically legal but sees no competitive play; nine mana is a non-starter when either format ends on turn one or two. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander 60-card-ish format where Phyrexian Triniform could theoretically appear in a Superfriends-style shell, though the mana ask makes it fringe there too. Treat this as a Commander card.

Current price
$2.51 cheap tier
At $2.51, Phyrexian Triniform is firmly budget for what it does — nine mana for 18 power plus a death trigger that reloads the board is a rare deal at that price point. Demand from Golem tribal and artifact recursion commanders keeps a floor under it, so this is unlikely to fall much further.
