People of the Woods enters as a Forests-matter toughness-pump that scales hard in land-heavy green builds — the more Forests you control, the more absurd the numbers get. At three mana for a 1/1 base that routinely reaches 1/8 or 1/12 by mid-game, it's a cheap body that punishes opponents who try to race through it.

Commander is the natural home for People of the Woods — green decks run 10–15 Forests as a baseline, and in dedicated mono-green or Forests-matter builds the toughness scales into the double digits by turn four. Legacy is technically legal but the card sees no play there; the format moves too fast for a 1/1 that blocks well and does nothing else. Vintage is the same story — legal, irrelevant. People of the Woods is a Commander card through and through, slotting into Yedora, Grave Gardener or Ashaya, Soul of the Wild shells where Forests flood the battlefield and every land you play makes this harder to kill.

Current price
$1.07 cheap tier
At $1.07, People of the Woods sits in the range where you pick it up without thinking twice and never feel bad about it. Prices on narrow-but-synergistic green creatures tend to stay flat unless a Commander precon pushes demand, so expect this to hold around a dollar for the foreseeable future.
