Palisade Giant turns every source of damage aimed at your team or your face into the Giant's problem — a six-mana, 2/7 that reads 'your opponents can't profitably attack or burn you' is as backbreaking as it sounds. Pair it with indestructibility from something like Rune-Tail, Kitsune Ascendant // Rune-Tail's Essence and the lock is essentially airtight.

Palisade Giant belongs in Commander, full stop. Six mana is a real cost in 60-card formats where faster threats demand faster answers, and the Giant sees essentially zero play in Legacy, Modern, or Pioneer for that reason. In Commander, the math flips: a single Giant can nullify an entire combat step or redirect a Comet Storm, and the multiplayer table means the damage-redirect effect does work against three opponents simultaneously. Oathbreaker is legal but too fast for a six-drop with no immediate threat; the Giant sits in hands there more often than it hits the table.

Current price
$0.30 bulk tier
At $0.30, Palisade Giant is deep bulk — you can pick up a playset for the price of a coffee. The price is unlikely to move meaningfully given the card's narrow niche, but at that rate there's no reason to play a worse protection piece when you can just own the real thing.
