In Commander, Oracle of Nectars earns its slot in any Golgari, Orzhov, or Sultai deck that casts spells to generate value — the life gain is passive, cumulative, and relevant as long as you're doing what the deck already wants to do. Legacy and Vintage have it on their legal lists, but competitive spell-based decks there don't care about incremental life gain that doesn't affect the board state, so it sees no play. Modern is legal too, but the same logic applies — life gain that doesn't interact with the opponent's plan at a meaningful rate isn't Modern-playable. Commander is the right home for Oracle of Nectars, specifically in life-matters shells where every point counts.
