Obzedat's Aid returns any permanent from your graveyard to the battlefield — enchantments, planeswalkers, artifacts, creatures, lands, all of it — for five mana at sorcery speed. That flexibility is the whole case for it; if you're in black-white and need a reanimation spell that doesn't care about card type, this is it.

Commander is where Obzedat's Aid actually lives. Five mana is fine in a format with 40 life and slower games, and the ability to reanimate any permanent type means it slots into Zur the Enchanter lists, Karador, Ghost Chieftain builds, and any Orzhov shell that wants a safety valve for high-value permanents. In competitive formats like Modern and Legacy it's simply too slow — five-mana sorceries that don't win on the spot don't make the cut when the game can end on turn three. Pioneer is the same story. Obzedat's Aid is a Commander card wearing cross-format legality as a technicality.

Price Context
Current price
$0.21 bulk tier
At $0.21, Obzedat's Aid is deep bulk — pick it up in any common-uncommon lot or grab a copy at your LGS's dollar bin. The price reflects Commander demand that's real but not intense, and it's unlikely to move unless a breakout deck pushes the any-permanent-type angle into the spotlight.
