Nivix Guildmage's copy ability turns any instant into a two-for-one on the same turn — stack it with Frantic Search and you're looting twice for the price of one spell. The two-mana body is the cost of admission, and for combo decks running blue-red, that's a bargain.

Nivix Guildmage sees almost all its competitive play in Commander, where instant-speed copy effects scale hardest — one Guildmage activation can cascade a chain of cantrips or storm-adjacent spells into a winning turn. In Modern and Legacy it's legal but ignored; the two-mana 2/2 body doesn't clear the baseline rate for those formats, and dedicated copy effects there come cheaper or with better upside. Pioneer offers the same story: legal, largely irrelevant outside niche brewing. Commander is the correct home, specifically in Izzet spell-slinger or combo shells where the copy ability closes games.

$0.23 bulk tier
At $0.23, Nivix Guildmage is deep bulk — the price of a sleeve, not a slot decision. That number is stable; this card has been reprinted enough times that it won't spike unless a new combo breaks it wide open.
