Nissa's Chosen is a 3/3 for two mana — an efficient body that pays rent — but the drawback of going to the bottom of the library instead of the graveyard is real, and most green decks would rather have a creature that generates immediate value. The one exception is Grenzo, Dungeon Warden, where that bottom-of-library clause flips from a liability into the whole game plan.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Nissa's Chosen is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but it sees almost no competitive play in any of them. In Commander, the card is a niche inclusion — a 3/3 for two is fine on rate, but green has no shortage of two-drop creatures that actually do something when they die or enter. Pauper is where creature efficiency matters most, and even there, a vanilla-adjacent body with a downside on death doesn't compete for slots. Nissa's Chosen is a constructed card only in the narrow sense that it can legally be played in those formats.

Current price
$3.48 cheap tier
At $3.48, Nissa's Chosen sits in the cheap tier, though that price is driven almost entirely by collector demand from Zendikar-era Planeswalker tie-in cards rather than gameplay demand. Don't expect this to appreciate — there's no competitive engine pulling it up.
