Nightsky Mimic becomes a 4/4 flyer every time you cast a spell that's both white and black — in the right shell, that's a repeatable two-mana threat that closes games. The catch is it does nothing outside Orzhov, so it earns its slot only when your deck is built to trigger it constantly.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

In Commander, Nightsky Mimic belongs in dedicated Orzhov spellslinger or lifegain builds where the majority of instants and sorceries carry both white and black pips — think Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim or Ravos, Soultender shells that cast multicolored spells every turn. Pauper is where Nightsky Mimic actually has historical teeth: Orzhov Pestilence and lifegain lists can trigger it repeatedly on a budget, and a 4/4 flyer at common is a real clock. In Legacy and Vintage it's strictly outclassed — the formats move too fast for a 2/2 that needs setup. Modern has access to far more efficient two-drops, so it stays on the bench there too.

$0.20 bulk tier
At $0.20, Nightsky Mimic is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard and postage, not scarcity. It won't appreciate; this is a card you pick out of a dollar bin when you need it, not one you stock up on.
