Commander is where Nesting Bot actually earns its slot — the format's slower clock gives the upkeep trigger time to accumulate, and artifact-token payoffs are abundant enough that a steady Myr supply translates into real board equity. In 60-card competitive formats like Modern and Pioneer, four mana for a do-nothing 1/1 on entry is close to unplayable; the token generation simply doesn't compensate for the tempo loss against decks operating at half the mana cost. Legacy and Vintage have enough raw power density that Nesting Bot won't see serious play there either.
