Narnam Renegade enters as a 1/2 deathtouch creature for one green mana, and if any creature was on the battlefield when it arrived, it becomes a 2/3 instead — a genuinely threatening body for the cost. In deathtouch-matters shells, especially Fynn, the Fangbearer, that's a one-mana threat that trades up with anything and poisons opponents on contact.

Fynn, the Fangbearer
Fynn, the Fangbearer turns every deathtouch creature into a poison-counter machine, and Narnam Renegade is one of the cheapest deathtouch bodies in the format — one mana for a creature that consistently comes in as a 2/3 in a multiplayer game means Fynn is online by turn two and attacking into whatever blocking configuration the table throws up.

In Commander, Narnam Renegade earns its slot almost exclusively in Fynn, the Fangbearer builds, where the deathtouch synergy is the entire game plan. In Modern and Pioneer, it's a fringe option — the revolt condition is easy enough to satisfy with fetchlands, but one-mana deathtouch creatures face stiff competition and rarely crack serious lists. Legacy has even less patience for a 2/3 that doesn't immediately impact the board beyond blocking duty. Narnam Renegade is a Commander card through and through; treat it as such.
