Mythos of Nethroi destroys any nonland permanent your opponents control — a sweeper-level effect on a single target — and if you control a black, green, and white permanent, it also puts a 1/1 token onto the battlefield, turning a removal spell into a two-for-one. Five mana is real, but unconditional permanent removal is rare enough that Nethroi, Apex of Death decks, which lean hard into all three colors, will almost always hit the bonus condition.

Commander is where Mythos of Nethroi earns its keep — unconditional nonland permanent removal hits enchantments, planeswalkers, and indestructible creatures that other spot removal misses, and Abzan decks nearly always satisfy the three-color clause for the free token. In competitive non-rotating formats like Modern and Legacy, five mana is a steep ask when Vindicate and Kaya's Guile exist at lower costs, so Mythos of Nethroi rarely shows up there.
