Muse Vortex
Sorcery
Exile the top X cards of your library. You may cast an instant or sorcery spell with mana value X or less from among them without paying its mana cost. Then put the exiled instant and sorcery cards that weren't cast this way into your hand and the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.

Muse Vortex draws you X cards and mills X cards for X mana — raw volume at instant speed, with the graveyard filling as a bonus rather than a cost. The catch is variance: you keep only what you draw, so a low roll punishes you hard.

Commander is where Muse Vortex actually lives — high mana totals are routine by the late game, and graveyard synergies across the table mean the mill clause is rarely irrelevant. In Legacy and Vintage it's outclassed by Brainstorm and Dig Through Time, cards that filter rather than flood, so it won't find a home in competitive shells there. Oathbreaker can support it in big-mana planeswalker builds, but the same ceiling problem applies: you need a lot of mana for Muse Vortex to outperform cheaper, more consistent draw spells.

Price Context
Current price
$0.28 bulk tier
At $0.28, Muse Vortex is firmly bulk — easy to pick up without a second thought. Bulk rares with narrow appeal tend to stay in this range, so don't expect movement unless a graveyard-heavy Commander archetype pushes demand.
