Molten Frame destroys any artifact creature for two mana at instant speed — clean, unconditional, and usable on your opponents' turns. It's a narrow answer to a specific card type, but when you need it, nothing about it disappoints.

In Commander, Molten Frame fills the slot of cheap, instant-speed artifact creature removal, which matters most in metas heavy on Wurmcoil Engine, Blightsteel Colossus, or Myr Battlesphere — it answers all of them without condition. Pauper is where Molten Frame actually competes for a slot, since the removal pool is constrained and two-mana unconditional instant-speed answers are harder to come by. In Legacy and Vintage the card is legal but irrelevant — those formats have access to Swords to Plowshares, Dismember, and Force of Will, making a two-mana sorcery-adjacent effect with no additional upside dead weight in the 60-card context. Modern has better options at the same cost with broader targeting, so Molten Frame stays on the sideline there too.
