Mirror Mockery card art
Mirror Mockery turns every attack with its enchanted creature into a free temporary clone — staple it onto Roalesk, Apex Hybrid and you're proliferating twice a combat, or onto Hidetsugu and Kairi and you're triggering a second "cast from top" hit every swing. The cost is real: the token exiles at end of combat, so you're not building a board, just generating triggers, which means it earns its slot only in decks that want those triggers more than a body.

Hidetsugu and Kairi attacks, Mirror Mockery triggers a token copy, and that copy's "enters the battlefield" clause fires again — doubling the damage-and-cast-from-top sequence before the token vanishes at end of combat.

Format Analysis

Mirror Mockery is a Commander card through and through — the effects it doubles are almost always legendary triggers or enters-the-battlefield abilities that only matter in singleton, high-value-creature builds. In Modern and Legacy, a two-mana aura that produces zero immediate board presence and dies to any removal targeting the host creature is simply too fragile to compete; aggressive decks ignore it and control decks strand it in hand. Pioneer is the same story: the format's creatures are powerful, but paying two mana and a card to conditionally copy a trigger once per combat doesn't clear the bar when cheaper, more resilient options exist. Mirror Mockery's home is squarely in Commander, where the creatures it wants to enchant are backbreaking enough that one extra trigger per turn cycle wins games.

Price Context

Current price

$0.44 bulk tier

At $0.44, Mirror Mockery is firmly bulk — easy to pick up as a throw-in or cheap acquisition for any commander that wants it. Bulk auras with narrow applications rarely climb, so don't expect the price to move unless a new legendary creature pushes the archetype into mainstream popularity.
