Mirage Mirror turns two mana into a copy of whatever permanent is most dangerous on the table — a threat, a utility land, a combo piece — at instant speed, every turn. The real ceiling is infinite mana loops like Myr Galvanizer or the Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy engine, where Mirror copies a second Galvanizer mid-untap to generate unbounded mana on the spot.

Commanders with the highest synergy

Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy
Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy lists run Mirage Mirror at over 60% inclusion because copying Myr Galvanizer mid-combo closes the infinite mana loop without needing a second copy in the deck.

Omo, Queen of Vesuva
Omo, Queen of Vesuva cares about permanents sharing types, and Mirage Mirror can snap-copy any land or creature Omo has already set up — extending the counter-spread engine at instant speed.

Zirda, the Dawnwaker
Zirda, the Dawnwaker reduces activated abilities, cutting Mirage Mirror's copy cost to a single colorless mana and making it trivially repeatable every turn.

Kotori, Pilot Prodigy
Kotori, Pilot Prodigy decks are artifact-dense, and Mirage Mirror can copy any Vehicle or artifact on the battlefield — including opponents' — while still being crewed by Kotori's untap effect.

Mairsil, the Pretender
Mairsil, the Pretender can exile Mirage Mirror to cage its activated ability, granting Mairsil the ability to copy any permanent on the board each turn for two mana.

Commander is where Mirage Mirror earns its place: the singleton format guarantees you'll always find a better permanent to copy than your own, and the multiplayer board state means the card scales with the power level of whoever is winning. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's legal but practically invisible — reactive copying doesn't map well to formats where games end quickly and permanents are less varied. Vintage has the raw card power to make temporary copying feel underpowered by comparison. Mirage Mirror is a Commander card in all but technical legality elsewhere.

$0.65 bulk tier
At $0.65, Mirage Mirror is firmly bulk despite being a genuine combo enabler with a 60%+ inclusion rate in top Kinnan lists. The price reflects mass supply from multiple reprints, not a lack of demand — it's one of the better dollar-rare pickups in the format.
