Commander is where Mirage Mirror earns its place: the singleton format guarantees you'll always find a better permanent to copy than your own, and the multiplayer board state means the card scales with the power level of whoever is winning. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's legal but practically invisible — reactive copying doesn't map well to formats where games end quickly and permanents are less varied. Vintage has the raw card power to make temporary copying feel underpowered by comparison. Mirage Mirror is a Commander card in all but technical legality elsewhere.
