Melting removes all snow supertype from all permanents until end of turn — a narrow hate effect that blanks Snow-matters payoffs and strips the snow land identity decks rely on. It costs one red mana for a turn, which means it buys a window rather than closes one permanently.

Where it lives, where it can’t

Melting is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, and irrelevant everywhere else. In Commander it's a meta call — snow strategies like Jorn, God of Winter or Narfi, Betrayer King exist, but they're fringe enough that Melting doesn't earn a slot in most 99s. Legacy and Vintage theoretically have access to it, but snow synergies aren't a meaningful part of those metagames and Melting has never been a sideboard staple. Run it if your local Commander meta has a dedicated snow deck you need to disrupt; otherwise it sits on the bulk pile.

Price Context
Current price
$0.18 bulk tier
At $0.18, Melting is deep bulk — the price reflects its narrow application rather than any scarcity concern. It won't appreciate unless snow strategies become a Commander staple, which isn't on the horizon.
