Mask of Law and Grace gives a creature protection from black and red for one white mana — cheap enough that the equip cost is the whole conversation. Outside of Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice decks that tutor it for free, it's a narrow combat trick that rarely justifies a slot.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice
Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice tutors any Aura when one enters attached to a creature, so casting a single one-mana Aura like Mask of Law and Grace chains into your whole library — it's a free tutor target that also blanks the two most common removal colors.

Pearl-Ear, Imperial Advisor
Pearl-Ear, Imperial Advisor buffs and protects Fox creatures, and Mask of Law and Grace layers on protection from black and red to make those Foxes even harder to answer through targeted removal or burn.

In Commander, Mask of Law and Grace is a narrow role-player that earns its slot almost exclusively in Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice builds, where its one-mana cost makes it a prime chain-starter. In Pauper, protection Auras see occasional play in white Heroic or Bogles-style strategies, and Mask of Law and Grace is cheap enough to compete for those slots. Legacy and Vintage are both legal formats, but the power ceiling there is too high for a one-mana protection piece to matter outside of very specific synergy shells. Modern, Pioneer, and Standard are all non-issues — Mask of Law and Grace isn't legal in any of them.

$1.23 cheap tier
At $1.23, Mask of Law and Grace sits at the low end of the cheap tier — about right for a narrow Aura that only reliably pulls its weight in one Commander archetype. Don't expect significant movement; demand is steady but ceiling-capped by how few decks genuinely want it.
