Malignant Growth puts a counter on an opponent's library every upkeep and forces them to draw that many cards — in a three-player pod, that's three opponents racing toward an empty deck. Six mana is steep, but the cumulative pressure is real enough that decks built around mill or forced-draw win conditions run it as a closer.

Malignant Growth is a Commander card through and through — the cumulative trigger only snowballs when there are multiple opponents, and the four-player default means the counter total climbs fast enough to threaten decks by the mid-game. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but sees zero play: six mana for a do-nothing-until-next-turn enchantment is miles off the pace of those formats. Oathbreaker is the one other shell where it can matter, particularly in two-player games where a single opponent mills out, though the narrower card pool makes dedicated support thinner.
