Commander is where Loch Mare actually lives — six mana is a real cost in 60-card formats, and the payoff is too slow for Legacy or Vintage where the game ends before the triggers accumulate. Modern and Pioneer can technically run it, but nothing there wants a six-drop value creature that doesn't close the game immediately. In Commander, the multiplayer table multiplies every trigger and recursive loops make the discard-draw effect brutal over multiple activations.
