Linessa, Zephyr Mage bounces any nonland permanent your opponent controls — repeatable, targeted, and requiring no combat — but the Grandeur activation costs four blue mana and demands you discard another Linessa from hand, a constraint that only exists in decks built around the ability. Outside of that niche, Wormfang Manta loops and similar extra-turn engines are where she earns her keep.

Linessa, Zephyr Mage is a Commander card through and through — the Grandeur mechanic only does anything when you can deliberately run multiple copies of a legendary creature, which no 60-card singleton format supports in practice. In Legacy and Vintage she's technically legal but competes against far more efficient bounce effects and will never see a competitive slot. Commander is the sole format where Linessa, Zephyr Mage finds a genuine role, either as a value piece in high-draw blue builds or as the engine of Grandeur-loop combos that generate infinite bounces or extra turns alongside cards like Wormfang Manta.

Price Context
Current price
$0.47 bulk tier
At $0.47, Linessa, Zephyr Mage sits firmly in bulk territory, which is accurate for a card with a narrow, build-around ability and no competitive demand outside Commander. The price is unlikely to move unless a Grandeur combo gains serious traction, so pick copies up cheaply if the archetype interests you — there's no floor to fall through.
