Lightning Prowess turns every instant and sorcery into a free ping — stack enough spells in a turn and you're dealing meaningful damage without spending extra mana or cards. The comparison point is Thornbite Staff, which does similar work on activated-ability creatures; Lightning Prowess asks for a spellslinger shell instead, and in the right deck it's the cleaner fit.
