Leashling card art
Leashling gives you a repeatable hand-reset on a 3/3 body — discard your hand, draw three cards, once per turn, for free after it hits the table. The cost is steep at six mana, but Mycosynth Golem can make it free in an artifact-heavy build, which is exactly where Leashling wants to live.

Format Analysis

Where it lives, where it can’t

FormatVerdict
commander

vintage
pauper
oathbreaker

Commander is the only format where Leashling is worth serious consideration — six mana is a real ask, but the incremental card advantage compounds over a long game, and artifact synergy commanders can offset the cost dramatically. In Legacy and Vintage, Leashling is strictly outclassed by faster, cheaper draw engines and will never see competitive play. Modern is similarly hostile; the card is legal but irrelevant at that mana value in a format that punishes anything slow. Oathbreaker is legal but shares the same problem — the format is too fast for a six-drop that takes a turn to pay off.

Price Context

Current price

$0.17 bulk tier

At $0.17, Leashling is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not demand. That price is stable because the card sees narrow play, so there's no meaningful floor risk, but don't expect it to move unless a breakout artifact commander pushes it into the spotlight.
