Lashknife gives all creatures you control first strike for a single white mana, and it tutors up any aura when it enters — that's a two-for-one stapled to a board-wide keyword. Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice turns that tutor trigger into a chain, making Lashknife one of the most efficient engine pieces in the deck.

Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice
Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice triggers off any aura entering, so casting Lashknife fetches another aura from your library and chains the engine forward — and the first strike it grants makes your pumped-up commander nearly impossible to trade against in combat.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Lashknife earns its slot almost exclusively in Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice lists, where the aura-tutor trigger is the whole point. Outside of that specific engine, a one-mana enchantment that grants first strike to your board is narrow but not unplayable in white weenie or voltron builds. In Pauper, the card is legal and the rate is fine, though dedicated first-strike synergies are sparse enough that it sees little competitive play. Legacy and Vintage have access to it, but the effect isn't remotely on rate for those formats.

Price Context
Current price
$0.16 bulk tier
At $0.16, Lashknife is deep bulk — pick it up without a second thought if you're building Light-Paws, Emperor's Voice. There's no financial friction here, and no reason to expect the price to move given how format-narrow the demand is.
