Landslide converts lands into direct damage at instant speed — sacrifice any number of Mountains, deal that much damage to any target. The cost is real: you're trading mana sources for a burn effect, so it only earns its slot when you're closing out a game or running an engine that replaces lands as fast as you lose them.

In Commander, Landslide occupies a narrow niche — it wins games from nowhere in Valakut-style landfall shells or alongside Scapeshift effects that can rebuy the Mountains you sacrifice, but most red decks have cleaner finishers. Legacy and Vintage have access to it but ignore it entirely; no competitive shell wants to sacrifice land to deal damage when faster, cheaper options exist. It's legal in Oathbreaker under the same logic that applies to Commander: only worth it if your shell actively supports land recursion or replaces lands at will.
