Laccolith Rig turns any creature you control into a repeatable damage-dealer that redirects blockers' damage to any target — effectively stapling a fight trigger onto your attackers for free every time they get blocked. The catch is a two-mana equip cost and the setup dependency on actually getting blocked, which makes it a build-around, not a generalist.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Laccolith Rig is a Commander card first and foremost — the format's longer games and creature-heavy tables give it the room to actually fire multiple times, and commanders like Brash Taunter or Gargos, Vicious Watcher that want to manufacture fights will use it as a damage engine. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but irrelevant; those formats kill you before an Equipment-based redirect plan gets off the ground. Pauper is the only other format where Laccolith Rig could theoretically see play, and even there the two-mana equip competes poorly with more direct aggressive options at common.

Price Context
Current price
$0.18 bulk tier
At $0.18, Laccolith Rig is deep bulk — the price of a throwaway inclusion, not a sought-after piece. It'll stay there; this is a narrow niche card with a small audience, and supply far exceeds demand.
