Kudzu destroys a land every turn — including one of yours — which makes it a symmetrical attrition engine that punishes anyone who doesn't want to lose ground faster than you do. It costs three mana for a three-mana enchantment with no immediate board impact, so you need a plan to break the symmetry or you're just paying to hurt yourself.

In Commander, Kudzu occupies a narrow lane: land-destruction or stax strategies that can exploit the symmetry, typically by running fewer lands than opponents or by having ways to sacrifice Kudzu before its trigger fires back. Outside that context it's a liability in a 100-card singleton format where tempo matters and land destruction draws heat at a four-player table. In Legacy and Vintage, Kudzu is legal but has never seen competitive play — three mana for a slow, symmetrical effect is nowhere near efficient enough alongside the broken things those formats allow. It's essentially a curiosity in constructed, worth examining only in Commander shells built specifically around its trigger.
