Justice deals damage to creatures with red in their mana cost equal to their own power — a static punishment enchantment that kills most red creatures the moment they deal combat damage. The catch is the two white mana upkeep, which makes it a liability if red never shows up across the table.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Justice is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, and irrelevant in everything else. In Commander it's a fringe hate piece — effective exactly when an opponent is running a red creature-heavy strategy, dead weight otherwise. Legacy and Vintage move too fast for a three-mana enchantment with an upkeep cost to matter. Oathbreaker shares Commander's dynamics at a smaller table, which only sharpens the problem: one opponent who doesn't play red and Justice is pure loss.

Price Context
Current price
$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Justice is deep bulk — you're paying for the cardboard, not the card. That price reflects its narrow application accurately and isn't going anywhere.
