Judge of Currents

Judge of Currents is a Pauper-legal common, and that's where it sees the most consistent play — Merfolk tribal and tap-synergy lists can squeeze real value from a one-drop that generates lifegain passively. In Commander, it belongs only in dedicated Merfolk or untap-combo decks where Judge of Currents fires multiple times per turn; anywhere else, the effect is too marginal to justify the slot. Legacy, Vintage, and Modern allow it, but it has never been a factor in any of those formats — the competition at one mana is simply too steep.
