Iona's Blessing attaches to a creature you control, gives it +2/+2, vigilance, and protection from a color of your choice — meaningful keywords stapled to a permanent buff. Four mana for an Aura that trades card equity for a single creature is too steep when better Equipment and Auras do more for less.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Iona's Blessing is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but it doesn't compete seriously in any of them. In Commander the four-mana Aura slot is brutally contested — you're up against Equipment that survives removal and Auras with far more raw impact. In Modern and Pioneer the format speed makes a four-mana do-nothing-until-resolved Aura unplayable. Legacy and Vintage are off the table for practical purposes. Iona's Blessing is strictly a casual Commander card, and even there it's a conditional pick.

Price Context
Current price
$0.10 bulk tier
At $0.10, Iona's Blessing sits firmly in bulk territory and will stay there. Demand isn't high enough to move the price, so there's no reason to speculate — pick it up if a casual deck specifically wants it, otherwise it's a throw-in trade card.
