Inheritance is a three-mana white enchantment that lets you pay two mana whenever a creature with power 2 or less dies to draw a card — cheap to cast, but the activation cost means it rarely chains draws the way you need in Commander. Run it only if your deck is built around small creatures dying repeatedly; otherwise it's the slowest possible draw engine in a format full of faster options.

Commander is the only format where Inheritance sees any real consideration, and even there it sits at the fringe — white's historic draw weakness made cards like this necessary once, but Skullclamp, Welcoming Vampire, and Tocasia's Welcome have all pushed it out of relevance. The two-mana activation per trigger means you need both a steady stream of small creature deaths and open mana at the right time, which is a lot to ask at the same moment. Legacy and Vintage allow it, but neither format would run Inheritance over any of the countless cheaper or unconditional draw spells available. It's a relic with a narrow window: white token decks that can't access better options and need a fifth or sixth draw piece to round out the 99.
