In Commander, Informed Inkwright earns its slot in any Boros or Orzhov spell-slinging list — the Clue payoff scales directly with how many targeting spells the deck casts per turn, making it quietly excellent in the right shell and irrelevant outside it. In Modern and Pioneer, it competes with higher-efficiency payoffs and lacks the redundancy needed to anchor a strategy, so it's fringe at best in those formats.
