In Commander, Inflame is a niche role-player in red decks that spread damage through Pyrohemia, Pestilence-style effects, or burn-all effects before the cleanup step — it turns a pinger setup into a board wipe for one mana. Legacy, Vintage, and Modern all have access to it, but those formats move too fast and demand too much from a conditional sorcery-speed-adjacent effect that requires prior damage; it sees no real play there. Pauper is the most plausible competitive home, specifically in red aggro shells where burn spells already clip multiple creatures, letting Inflame close out a cluttered board without spending two full cards.
