Impatience punishes slow players with a 1-damage clock every end step they don't cast a spell, and at two mana in red it costs almost nothing to deploy. It's a niche card with a real effect in the right shell — stax and speed-taxing decks love it; everyone else can ignore it.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Impatience earns a serious look. Four-player games mean three opponents each facing the end-step trigger independently, and in stax or group-slug builds the chip damage compounds fast enough to matter. Legacy and Vintage are both legal, but neither has any use for a two-mana enchantment that demands patience from opponents — faster clocks exist at every turn. Oathbreaker is legal too, and the compressed game length makes the ping more relevant, though the format is too niche for Impatience to define any archetype.

Price Context
Current price
$0.33 bulk tier
At $0.33, Impatience is deep bulk — no meaningful barrier to picking up a copy. Demand is too narrow for the price to move unless a high-profile stax commander spikes in popularity, so don't expect it to appreciate.
