Heir of the Wilds is a two-mana 2/2 with deathtouch and a conditional +1/+1 pump — it trades up with anything it blocks and kills creatures dead on contact. In Fynn, the Fangbearer decks it's a core piece: deathtouch plus any combat damage to a player is two poison counters on a two-drop.

Fynn, the Fangbearer
Fynn, the Fangbearer doubles every point of combat damage a deathtoucher deals to a player into two poison counters, and Heir of the Wilds is one of the most efficient deathtouchers available at two mana — it shows up in over 21% of Fynn lists because it hits early, pumps itself when another creature enters, and threatens a kill in five attacks unblocked.

In Commander, Heir of the Wilds is a role-player in dedicated deathtouch or Fynn, the Fangbearer infect strategies — nowhere else. In Modern and Pioneer it's simply outclassed: Elves and aggro shells have better two-drops, and deathtouch without evasion rarely makes the cut at that competition level. Legacy is the same story — the card is legal but irrelevant outside a fringe Fynn-style build. It's a Commander card that happens to be legal in other formats.

$0.27 bulk tier
At $0.27, Heir of the Wilds is bulk — grab a copy out of any common box or throw it in a cart as a filler card. Bulk rares with narrow applications don't appreciate, so there's no reason to sit on copies expecting movement.
