Havoc Jester card art
Havoc Jester turns every sacrifice — yours or your opponents' — into a free Lightning Bolt pointed anywhere, and in a multiplayer game that damage adds up fast. Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator and Zurzoth, Chaos Rider both generate tokens to feed it, but Havoc Jester earns its slot in any deck that moves creatures to the graveyard at volume.

Zurzoth, Chaos Rider

Zurzoth, Chaos Rider

21.0% of decks · synergy 0.21

Zurzoth, Chaos Rider floods the board with Devil tokens that die constantly in combat, and Havoc Jester converts every one of those deaths into a damage trigger — opponents lose life whether they block or don't.

Raphael, Fiendish Savior

Raphael, Fiendish Savior

Raphael, Fiendish Savior builds a wide board of Demons, Devils, and Vampires that naturally cycle through sacrifice outlets, and Havoc Jester staples a damage rider to every creature that hits the bin.

Havoc Jester is a Commander card — six mana is too slow for Modern or Pioneer, where sacrifice payoffs need to close the game by turn four. In Legacy and Vintage it's theoretically legal but never sees play; faster combo and control decks have no interest in a 5/4 that asks you to assemble a sacrifice engine. Commander is where it belongs: the multiplayer damage ceiling is tripled, games go long enough for the engine to fire repeatedly, and token-generating or aristocrats commanders turn Havoc Jester into a source of inevitability that opponents have to answer.

Price Context

Current price

$0.13 bulk tier

At $0.13, Havoc Jester is pure bulk — pick up a copy any time without thinking about it. Bulk rares with narrow Commander homes rarely spike unless a popular precon or new commander puts them on the map, so don't expect the price to move unless something dramatically boosts sacrifice-matters decks.
