Hallowed Ground card art
Hallowed Ground lets you untap target Plains you control for two white mana — a net-zero mana exchange that generates no value on its own and requires dedicated land-untap payoffs to do anything meaningful. Outside of very narrow Plains-matters combo builds, this is a bench card.

Hallowed Ground is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but sees essentially no play in any of them. In Commander, the effect is too narrow — you need Plains in play, a specific untap payoff, and a way to loop it, all for an engine that more efficient cards replicate better. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in a sorcery-speed Plains untapper when those formats operate at a different axis entirely. Oathbreaker is the one fringe case where a white enchantment-heavy build might find a niche use, but even there, Hallowed Ground competes against strictly better mana-generation options.
