Grim Harvest returns a creature from your graveyard to your hand for two mana — and if you pay the Recover cost, it does it again next time a creature dies that turn. The repetition is the point: in sacrifice loops where you're killing something like Coretapper every turn anyway, this isn't a one-shot recursion spell, it's an engine.
Format Analysis

Grim Harvest is a Commander card front to back — the Recover trigger only pays off when you have a steady stream of creatures dying, and sacrifice-based Commander decks provide exactly that. In Pauper it's technically playable and the commons constraint keeps the power ceiling low enough that recursive value is real, though it sees minimal play there. Legacy and Vintage have faster, harder engines and zero interest in a two-mana sorcery that requires setup. Grim Harvest is doing its best work in the 100-card format, specifically inside aristocrats or persist-loop shells where Recover fires on someone else's creature dying just as easily as your own.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Grim Harvest is pure bulk — grab a copy from any dollar-bin without a second thought. Demand is narrow enough that the price isn't going anywhere, but that also means there's no reason to wait.
