Griffin Guide turns any creature into a 3/2 flying attacker with a built-in consolation prize — when the enchanted creature dies, you get a 2/2 Griffin token to replace it. The rate is decent enough that Cass, Hand of Vengeance and Three Dog, Galaxy News DJ both want it, but three mana for a conditional aura that doesn't protect its host is a real cost you're accepting every time you cast it.

In Commander, Griffin Guide occupies a narrow lane: enchantress builds and Aura-voltron decks that want every enchantment they can find at a low price point. Legacy, Modern, and Vintage are legal but irrelevant — three-mana Auras that don't generate immediate card advantage have no place in those formats. The death-trigger replacing the creature with a token has real upside in Commander's longer games, where board wipes happen frequently and a 2/2 flier is better than nothing, but Griffin Guide still competes against a crowded field of three-mana Auras that protect their host or generate more immediate value.
