Grave Servitude
Enchantment — Aura
You may cast this spell as though it had flash. If you cast it any time a sorcery couldn't have been cast, the controller of the permanent it becomes sacrifices it at the beginning of the next cleanup step.

Grave Servitude gives a creature +2/+0 and menace until end of turn — relevant stats for a combat trick, but it's a sorcery, which kills most of the reason you'd run a pump spell in the first place. There are cleaner ways to push through damage, and the inability to ambush a blocker or protect an attacker in response to removal makes this a hard sell outside of very specific go-wide or menace-synergy builds.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Grave Servitude is a fringe inclusion at best — combat tricks are weak in a multiplayer format where one-for-one sorcery-speed pump rarely changes a game's outcome. Pauper is the only format where it has any genuine claim: the common card pool is shallow enough that menace-granting effects at two mana occasionally matter in aggressive builds, and the format's lower power ceiling makes +2/+0 more relevant. Legacy and Vintage are legal but irrelevant — the bar is far too high for a card this narrow. Oathbreaker sits closer to Commander in power expectations, so the same skepticism applies there.

Price Context
Current price
$0.14 bulk tier
At $0.14, Grave Servitude is deep bulk — a slot-filler price for a slot-filler card. There's no pressure to buy or trade for it; copies are everywhere, and the price is unlikely to move without an extremely unlikely reprint in a high-profile product that somehow elevates its profile.
