Goblin Trashmaster turns every Goblin you control into a potential artifact kill, and under Krenko, Mob Boss or Muxus, Goblin Grandee that threat gets so large opponents can't safely deploy mana rocks or equipment. The static lord effect is a bonus — the activated ability is the reason you're here.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Muxus, Goblin Grandee
Muxus, Goblin Grandee dumps a board of Goblins into play at once, and Goblin Trashmaster converts that sudden mass into an immediate artifact wrecking crew before opponents can respond.

Wort, Boggart Auntie
Wort, Boggart Auntie builds toward a dense Goblin board through recursion, and Goblin Trashmaster gives that sustained presence a way to dismantle opposing artifact infrastructure turn after turn.

Krenko, Mob Boss
Krenko, Mob Boss generates the sheer token volume that makes Goblin Trashmaster's activated ability trivially cheap — once Krenko has doubled the board twice, a single artifact activation costs almost nothing.
Grub, Storied Matriarch
Grub, Storied Matriarch rewards running a wide creature count, and Goblin Trashmaster slots in as both a lord that raises the tribal ceiling and a removal piece that justifies the slot on utility alone.

General Kreat, the Boltbringer
General Kreat, the Boltbringer cares about Goblin density for its own payoffs, and Goblin Trashmaster pulls double duty as a +1/+1 anthem and an artifact removal outlet that converts excess tokens into interaction.
Format Analysis

Goblin Trashmaster is squarely a Commander card — the payoff scales with board size, and 60-card formats rarely give you the token density needed to make the activation feel free. In Modern and Pioneer Goblin tribal shells exist, but a four-mana lord that requires additional resources to remove artifacts is too slow against the format's threats, and Goblin Chieftain or Goblin King fill the lord slot more efficiently. Legacy Goblin lists are tight and linear enough that Trashmaster rarely makes the cut. Commander is where it lives, specifically in Goblin strategies that go wide and need an artifact hate piece embedded in the creature base rather than a dedicated slot.

Cheaper options that do most of the same work
Vandalblast and Reclamation Sage cost well under a dollar and handle artifact removal cleanly, but neither doubles as a tribal lord — you get the function without the board bonus. If the lord effect matters, Goblin King is a cheap alternative, though it trades Goblin Trashmaster's artifact kill entirely for mountainwalk, which is a different axis of value.
Price Context
Current price
$9.11 mid tier
At $9.11, Goblin Trashmaster sits in the mid tier — expensive enough to feel like a deliberate include, affordable enough that it's not a budget obstacle for a dedicated Goblin deck. The price is fair for a card that fills two roles at once; it won't spike further unless a new high-profile Goblin commander dramatically expands the pool.
