Glory-Bound Initiate is a three-mana 3/3 that attacks as a 4/4 lifelinker whenever you exert it — real stats for the cost, with meaningful life gain attached. The tax is skipping your next untap, so it plays best in decks that don't need it blocking every turn.

In Commander, Glory-Bound Initiate is a role-player in Ayli, Eternal Pilgrim or Oloro, Ageless Ascetic life-gain shells where the lifelink trigger compounds quickly and the exert downside is almost irrelevant at a four-player table. Competitive Constructed formats have largely passed it by — Modern and Pioneer have more efficient white three-drops that don't come with an untap restriction. Legacy and Vintage ignore it entirely. If you're building around exert synergies or white weenie life-gain in Pioneer, Glory-Bound Initiate is worth a look, but it's never been a format staple in any 60-card context.
